A year in Mallorca - top events and experiences to plan for 2025

2025 is underway and there’s LOTS to look forward to here on the island of Majorca. Whether you’re travelling solo, with family or friends, we’ve selected some of the best cultural, music, and sporting events for you to enjoy.
February: Carnaval
In Spain, there are always plenty of reasons to celebrate and throw a party or fiesta. Carnaval is a colourful celebration leading up to Lent that involves dressing up and taking to the streets. This year, the kids’ carnival, La Rueta, takes place on Sunday 23rd February from 10.30 am around Palma, with activities for children, music, and vibrant costumes. On Sunday 2nd March at 5 pm, there is an adults parade, where decorated floats travel around town with prizes for the best dressed.
March: Day of the Balearic Islands
March kicks off with Dia de les Illes Balears on 1st March, a public holiday that commemorates the day the islands were given autonomous status. In Sa Feixina park in Santa Catalina, Palma, stalls sell traditional food, drinks and products—a great way to learn more about the island’s culture and gastronomy.
April - Easter aka Semana Santa
From processions to funfairs, Easter is a special time on the island. In Palma and the villages, you’ll witness people dressed in robes and conical hoods from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, a sombre but powerful experience. For something more upbeat, Fira del Ram is a funfair at Poligon de Son Fusteret until 27th April that kids and adults will enjoy.
June: Mallorca Live Festival and local fiestas
On 12, 13 and 14 June, the 8th edition of Mallorca Live Festival will take place in Magaluf. This year, the headliners include British trip-hop group Massive Attack, punk icon Iggy Pop and 90s rock band Suede, alongside Spanish singer Bad Gyal and Argentinian dance artist Nathy Peluso. The main highlight of the Majorcan music calendar—don’t miss it.
Don’t miss local fiestas, Sant Joan, a night of bonfires on beaches, and Nit de Foc the night before, with fireworks, devils, and lots of fire. Noisy and wild—take earplugs if you have children—but unmissable.
July: Copa del Rey
Summer is for the beach. But if you’re looking for something else that doesn’t involve swimming and you love boats, the Copa del Rey Takes place at the end of the month. This revered sailing regatta in the Bay of Palma involves yacht races and other exciting events.
September: Nit de l’Art Palma
A celebration of local and international art, the capital’s ‘Night of Art’ is a fixture on the cultural calendar. Galleries, museums and cultural spaces open their doors to the public.
We look forward to welcoming you to Ca’s Saboners and we’re sure you’re looking forward to your visit to Mallorca too.
