Family Parks around Mallorca: Water vs Land

April 30 2024

If you haven’t noticed already by the numerous posters greeting you at the airport, Mallorca is home to a number of wonderful parks. Most of these experiences are tailored to family activities, making sure that the little ones are fully entertained. In this article, we’ll provide you with an overview of the best options around the island, should you decide to leave Magaluf for a family day trip. We have divided the destinations into water and land themes, this way we’ll make sure that every little explorer out there finds his own adventure.

Water Worlds

Considering we are talking about literal hotspots on a Mediterranean island, we think it’s only appropriate if we start with the parks that will provide you with a refreshing break on a hot summer’s day. Then, we’ll turn to the marine parks where you are less likely to need your bikini or trunks.

Make a big Splash

In addition to the Western Water Park and Katmandu Park which we have discussed in last year’s edition of Kids Parks near Magaluf, we would like to introduce you to two more alternatives. In case you happen to spend the day on other parts of the island, such as the northern region around Alcúdia, we recommend you check out the Hidro Park. It features a variety of slides, ranging from adrenaline-pumping to child-friendly, spacious pools with artificial waves and kids playgrounds.

Moving down south to Arenal, you will find one of Mallorca’s largest waterparks, Aqualand. This park can be paired well with a shopping spree in Palma’s city centre, given it is only a 15 minute drive away. Nonetheless, we recommend you plan in a bit more time, because the amount of different attractions will have your child asking you to stay longer. Aqualand's extensive facilities also include ample sunbathing areas and food courts to guarantee a full day worth of enjoyment.

Discovering Ocean Life

Next to the live water shows you can witness at Marineland, Palma Aquarium offers an indoor alternative with a whole underwater wonderland waiting to be discovered. It provides an immersive experience into marine habitats across the globe, from the colorful coral reefs of the Pacific to the deep, mysterious waters of the Atlantic. Home to over 700 species, visitors can marvel at everything from vibrant coral fish to the powerful sharks in the Big Blue (one of Europe’s deepest tanks).

Land Worlds

For all our landlubbers out there, you will be happy to hear that there are obviously plenty of other parks, in case water just isn’t for you. From zipline walks high in the trees, to trampoline havens and even dinosaur worlds, Mallorca’s parks provide a thrill for every child.

Jungle Parks

Located only 10 minutes west from our Ca’s Saboners Aparthotel, you shouldn't miss a visit to the lush pine forest of Jungle Parc. With over 100 platforms installed high up in the trees, this park is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It features three circuits: the Pirate, for young adventurers; the Explorer, for those looking for a moderate challenge; and the Extreme, for the most daring participants. Each circuit is carefully designed with a variety of obstacles such as zip lines, swings, bridges, and nets to create fun challenges.

Situated near Palma, the TirolinasGo Forestal Park provides an exhilarating experience that is more focused on their various zip-line routes. Our adrenaline seekers can challenge their inner Tarzan here to test if they’re fit for the jungle. This park is likewise well suited for family adventures amidst a beautiful Mediterranean forest.

Some Alternatives

If this experience seems a bit too daunting or exhausting, we understand. For a less physical but equally exciting activity, head over to Dinosaurland on the east coast. This themed park captivates visitors with its life-sized dinosaur replicas set in naturalistic settings, creating an immersive environment. Guests can explore various exhibits that detail the lives and habitats of these ancient creatures. Educational and interactive, Dinosaurland provides informative displays, fossil digs, and engaging activities that encourage learning through discovery.

If you do indeed enjoy a bit of movement while you are on holiday but happen to have caught a rainy day, take your kids to Palma Jump and thank us later. A whole indoor park dedicated to trampolines will be pretty hard to beat. Visitors can enjoy a wide array of attractions, including freestyle jump areas, dodgeball courts, basketball hoops, and foam pits. Whether you're looking to burn some energy, practice flips, Palma Jump is the perfect destination for active entertainment.

Make your Choice

Whether you're looking to cool off with some water fun or seeking an adrenaline-packed day in the trees, Mallorca's diverse range of parks offers something for every family trip. Each destination provides unique opportunities to make lasting memories while enjoying the thrilling attractions.
