Day trip Playa de Muro

July 17 2023

Playa de Muro is as close to the Carribean as you’ll get in the Med. With white sands and vivid blue waters, this place is guaranteed to capture your heart. Located in the northeast of the island, Playa de Muro is part of the kilometer-long beach that stretches from Puerto Alcudia to Can Picafort. Voted as one of the best beaches in Europe, this sandy paradise is a bucket list destination for your summer escape. Here’s our guide to enjoying Playa de Muro.

Adventure awaits on the water

Watersports are front and centre of the activity offering in Playa de Muro. Paddleboarding is amongst our favourite ways to pass the time and to explore. Not only is it fun, it’s also a great way to exercise the body. You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy it. Even as a complete beginner, the calm waters in the Bay of Alcudia make for the perfection paddleboarding conditions.

Wind- and Kitesurfing are other popular activities here. There are tons of places where you can rent the equipment, as well as businesses that offer lessons.

Leisure time on the beach

Those looking for a more laid-back afternoon will enjoy renting a pedalo and bobbing around on the gentle waves. This is also a fun way to make the most of the sea with your kids.

Sunbathing is an absolute must when visiting Playa de Muro. You’ll be glad to hear that sunbed and umbrella rental are offered up and down the sand here, which means there is lots of space for everyone and it never feels too crowded.

When your stomach starts to rumble, wander to one of the many stylish beach bars that offer the best of Mediterranean cuisine in a stunning setting. Our faves are Ponderosa Beach and Numa Beach.

Discover wildlife

Playa de Muro is also known for its abundant wildlife, both aquatic and land based. This bay is popular with dolphins, which you can get to know by jumping on one of the boat tours that takes you to their favourite locations.

The S’Albufera Natural Park is another go-to destination when visiting this side of the island. Bird watchers will enjoy keeping their eyes peeled for Great White Egrets or Purple Herons.

If horseback riding is your thing, you’ll love cantering along the sand with the salty sea breeze in your face. Rancho Ses Roques is a popular company that offers riding on Playa de Muro.

Make the most of your time on the island this summer with a stay at Cas Saboners, your home of adventure!
